About Chocolate Junction – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Our place is down in Basavanagudi on Omer Sheriff Road. It’s a bit of an older neighborhood, so the streets are narrow and there are lots of trees dropping leaves. We open up early to start setting things out on the glass shelves. The shop isn't very big, so if more than five people come in at once, it starts feeling a bit tight. We have some wooden stools that have been here since we opened. They creak a little when you sit down, but they still work fine. The walls are painted a plain off-white color that shows the scuffs. We spend a good chunk of the afternoon just organizing boxes and checking the dates on everything. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit more hectic with families walking around. The door has a small bell that rings every time someone enters, which can get a bit loud after a few hours. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the one hanging over the entrance. Usually, we just sit near the counter and chat when there’s a gap in customers. It’s mostly locals who stop by on their way home from the market. We try to keep the windows clean, but the dust from the road makes it a daily struggle. It's a simple setup we have here, nothing too complicated or fancy. We just stay open until the last light on the street goes out.
