The shop at Malleshwaram Veerasandra 11 is where we keep Choco Nest. It’s a small place, maybe smaller than most people expect when they hear the name. We spend most of our time at the back table. There’s usually some chocolate melting in a pot or piles of silver foil everywhere. We do all the wrapping by hand, so my fingers always feel a bit sticky by the end of the shift. The air in here always smells sweet, which is nice, but you get used to it after an hour. We don’t have a big glass front, just a regular door that stays open most of the time. People walking through Veerasandra often poke their heads in to see what we’re doing. It’s not a factory. It’s just a couple of us working at the counter. The shelves are made of simple wood and they’re filled with whatever we finished making that morning. Sometimes the shapes aren't perfect, but they taste fine. We’ve been at number 11 for a while. The neighborhood is changing a lot, with new buildings going up, but our little corner stays the same. We don’t have any marketing people or fancy boxes. We just use what we have and put things out for the locals. It’s a quiet way to make a living and we like being in this part of Malleshwaram. We close when we run out of things to wrap for the day.
