I run my small business out of No.942 on the 4th Main Road in Kalidas Nagar. It’s tucked away in Banashankari 3rd Stage, which is a fairly quiet residential pocket compared to the main roads. I mostly work on my own or with one or two helpers when things get really busy. My kitchen isn’t huge, but I’ve organized it so I can reach everything without moving too much. I spend a lot of my day standing at the stove or prep table. My back usually starts to ache by four in the afternoon, so I take a short break with a cup of tea on the front step. The neighbors often stop to chat while I’m out there. I don't have a big corporate plan or a fancy brand name. It's just my name, Chandru P, on the bills. I buy all the ingredients myself from the local market because I don't trust the delivery services to pick the best vegetables. The 4th Main Road is narrow, and sometimes the garbage truck gets stuck, which makes a lot of noise. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know the shortcuts and the people. It’s a simple way to make a living. I don’t have an assistant to handle the phone, so if I’m busy cooking, I just let it ring and call back later. People around here understand how it is. It’s just me doing my work.
