If you walk down Palace Road and turn into the 2nd Cross in Kempana Block, you will find our workshop at number 13. We do a lot of engineering work here, mostly focusing on precision parts that need to be just right. The shop is full of lathes and milling machines that make a constant humming sound all day long. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with all the heavy equipment and the workbenches covered in metal shavings. We spend our time checking measurements over and over again because a tiny mistake means the whole piece is junk. Our hands are usually covered in machine oil, and there is always a rag tucked into someone's back pocket. We started out small and just kept adding more machines as we got busier over the years. It is not the kind of place where you want to wear nice clothes because of the sparks and the grease. We do not have a fancy front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you just have to shout over the noise of the machines to get someone's attention. We just like making things that fit together perfectly. The neighborhood is mostly quiet until we start up the heavy gear in the morning. It is a solid, honest way to make a living, and we take pride in the stuff we turn out from this small block for our clients.
