We are situated at No.48 on the 1st Main Road in Jayanagar. It’s right in the Sakamma Garden area, not far from South End Circle. It’s a beautiful part of town with plenty of old trees, though the roots sometimes mess up the pavement outside our door. Our setup is pretty traditional. We’ve been doing this for years, and not much has changed in our routine. I get in early to check the quality of the rice and lentils we get from the market. If the quality isn't right, I end up arguing with the supplier for an hour. The kitchen staff has been the same for a long time. We work well together, mostly in silence because everyone knows their job. We don’t have a polished front office. If you come by, you’ll probably find me sitting at a small wooden desk covered in receipts and scraps of paper. We use a lot of fresh coconut, so there’s always someone cracking shells in the corner. The sound echoes through the whole place. We don’t do any fancy marketing. Most of our work comes from people who have eaten our food at someone else’s house. We just focus on the basics, like making sure the salt is balanced and the food is served warm. Sometimes the delivery driver gets stuck in the South End Circle traffic, and we all sit around worrying until he calls. It’s just a normal, small business life.
