Chamundeshwari Engg.

Our workshop, Chamundeshwari Engg., is located at No. 8 Mile on Mysur Road. We are right by the R.V. Collage-Post, which is a landmark most people know around here. The road is always loud with traffic and the sound of buses going towards the city. We do all sorts of engineering tasks in our little shop. It’s not a polished place at all. There is oil on the concrete floor and tools are hanging on the walls or lying on the benches. It’s a place for working with your hands. Being at No. 8 Mile means we get a lot of people stopping by because they’re passing through. The R.V. Collage-Post area is always busy with students and local workers. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just take the jobs as they come in. Sometimes the work is easy and sometimes it’s a real headache. We just try to figure things out. It gets pretty noisy when the drills and grinders are going. Most days I go home with grease under my fingernails and on my clothes. It’s just part of the job on Mysur Road. We’ve been here for a long time and we know most of the people who work in the nearby shops. It’s a decent community and we just try to do our part and keep the machines running. It’s a practical, hardworking kind of place where things get fixed.
