Carnatic Vocal Music

We are located at house number 60 on Jamia Masjid Road in Byappanahalli. It is a lively neighborhood in Bangalore, and you can always hear the sounds of the street and the nearby railway station. Our place is basically a converted part of a house. It feels very personal and local, not like a big school or a corporate office. We have a few rooms dedicated to vocal music practice. There are no big stages or fancy microphones here. Students just sit on the floor in a circle and practice their singing together. The house is old, and it has that comfortable, lived-in feel to it. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing outside, and you can hear them laughing while we are trying to stay on key. We don't have any staff in uniforms or anything like that. It’s just us and the students. We usually have some tea waiting for whoever comes in for the late session. The road outside can get quite narrow and congested with scooters, so it's always a bit of a squeeze to get through. We have been here for a long time and the locals know us well. It’s just a simple place for people who want to sing. We don't need much more than a quiet corner and some time to practice our lessons together.
