Bhagavati Sarees

We are located over at 36 2nd Cross in Sai Baba Naga. Akkipet is a crowded place, but we like it here. My father started this long ago, and now we just keep it going day by day. We have lots of sarees piled up. Sometimes it feels like there is more fabric than floor space, but we manage. The lanes here are narrow, so if you are coming by vehicle, you have to be careful where you park. Most people just walk in while they are doing their other shopping. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan running full speed. We don't really do much advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes we sit on the stools and drink tea while waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It’s a quiet kind of busy. We show the sarees, talk about the colors, and let people feel the material. That’s about it. There’s no big sales pitch here. If you like something, you take it. If not, that’s fine too. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we all look out for each other. It’s a good community. The shelves are getting a bit old, but they hold the weight of the silk just fine. We open up early and close when the sun goes down. We have a lot of different patterns but they aren't organized in a fancy way.
