Our shop is out in the Sadaramangala Industrial Area, right near Whitefield Road. If you know the Mahadevapura Post area, you’ve probably passed by 17-B at some point. It’s usually pretty loud around here with all the machinery running. Bevel Gears (India) Pvt Ltd. is where we spend our time making parts that go into other machines. It’s greasy work, and our hands are rarely clean by lunchtime. The floor is always covered in metal shavings despite how often we sweep the place. We deal with a lot of gear cutting and shaping. Each day starts early because that's when the power is most reliable in this sector. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend half the day just trying to get it back up and running. It’s frustrating but that’s just how it goes in a place like this. The guys in the back have been here for years and they know the sounds of every lathe by heart. We don’t have any fancy reception area or anything. Just a desk with a lot of folders and the smell of cutting oil everywhere. It’s a practical place for practical work. Getting things to fit exactly right takes a lot of patience. We just keep our heads down and focus on the gears. The traffic on Whitefield Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we usually try to wrap up our work and leave before the roads get completely blocked.
