Basel Watch Company

Over at 325 Koramangala, we spend most of our time looking through small magnifying glasses. Basel Watch Company isn't a massive store, but it's packed with all sorts of timepieces and tools. The sounds of ticking are pretty much constant here, which you get used to after a few days. We handle a lot of different watches, from the ones people inherit from their grandfathers to the newer ones that just need a battery change. Koramangala is always moving fast outside, but inside here, things feel a bit slower because you can't rush fixing a watch movement. It takes patience and steady fingers. Sometimes a part is hard to find and we have to tell a customer to wait a week, which they usually understand. We aren't here to give you a big sales pitch. We just like watches and knowing how they work. The shop can get a bit cramped when three or four people walk in at once, but we make it work. Most of our regulars are folks from the nearby blocks who have been coming to us for years. We don't have fancy lights or a shiny floor. It’s just a counter, some stools, and a lot of tiny screws and springs scattered around the workbenches. If you have a watch that stopped ticking or just needs a new strap, we are usually sitting right here ready to take a look at it.
