Bangalore Saree Museum

Our place is inside Mathrusri Tower, right there on the 1st Cross in Appaji Rao Lane. It can be a bit tricky to find if you are not used to the narrow lanes around Nagarathpeth Cross. We have been at this spot for quite some time now. The Bangalore Saree Museum is not exactly a museum in the way people think, but we have a lot of stock piled up on the shelves. It gets crowded in here, especially on weekends when everyone is out shopping in the market area. We spend our mornings folding things and putting them back in order. The lighting in the tower is not always the best, but we know where everything is kept. If you are looking for us, look for the MM Lane entrance. It gets quite noisy outside with all the carts and people moving about. We do not have a big fancy website or anything like that. Most people just walk in because they were passing by or someone told them about us. We try to keep the door open to let some air in, though it gets dusty from the street. It is a busy life here in Mathrusri Tower. Sometimes the elevator acts up, so most of us just take the stairs. We have got stacks of fabric everywhere, which is just how we run things. Nothing too formal. We just like being part of the Nagarathpeth hustle.
