Bake Magic

We’ve got our little shop, Bake Magic, at 2036 Christ College Road. It’s a good spot because of the college nearby. We start early in the morning when it's still quiet outside. The smell of the oven usually fills the air before the sun is even fully up. We spend most of our time mixing dough or checking on the trays. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets really warm, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes we get a bit behind when a lot of people come in at once, but we manage. Students often stop by between their classes. We’ve gotten to know quite a few of them. The street can get pretty crowded during the day, which keeps things interesting. We don’t have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the baking and trying to keep everything fresh. There are days when the floor is covered in flour and we're rushing to finish a batch. We try to keep the shop tidy, but it's a working bakery, so it's not always perfect. We like the rhythm of it though. Every day is pretty much the same routine, but we don't mind. It’s nice to see people enjoying what we’ve made. We just stay here on Christ College Road and do our thing. It's a busy life, but it suits us well enough.
