Bandipur National Park

Even though our name is Bandipur National Park, this specific location is just our office in the city. We are at Site No. 1 on BNK Avenue. It’s tucked behind Bank Avenue in the Babusapalaya area. It’s a lot different from the actual park with the trees and animals. Here, it’s just a regular building in a residential neighborhood. We handle the administrative side of things, like bookings and paperwork. People call us up to ask about safari timings or how to get to the forest. We have a few desks and some old computers. The walls have some posters of tigers and elephants just to remind us of what we are working for. Babusapalaya is a fairly quiet area compared to the main roads. There are a lot of houses around us. Sometimes it gets a bit confusing for people trying to find us because the street names are similar. We spend our day answering the phone and filing documents. It’s not very glamorous, but it has to be done. We have a small teapot and some biscuits for when we take a break. The staff here has been around for a while, so we know how to handle the busy seasons when everyone wants to go on a trip. It’s just a small team of us in this office. We try to keep things moving so the park operations go smoothly from this end.
