Babu Time House

We've been here at 133 Near T R Mill in Nagdevi Chamrajpet for a long time now. People know us as Babu Time House. It’s just a small spot where we deal with watches and clocks every day. Sometimes it gets a bit busy around the mill area, but we're usually in the shop from morning until evening. We fix things that stop ticking and sell some new pieces too. There's not much fancy about the place, just a lot of tools and parts scattered on the workbench. My father started this, and now I'm the one sitting here most days. It’s a quiet kind of work, mostly. You see the same faces coming in from the neighborhood. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address. People usually find us by word of mouth or if they live nearby in Chamrajpet. The shop isn't very large, so things are a bit cramped with all the boxes and display cases. It’s dusty sometimes because of the traffic outside, but we try to keep the glass clean so you can see the dials. There's a certain rhythm to it, listening to all the different clocks ticking at once. If you're walking past T R Mill, you'll probably spot us. We just do our work and go home. Nothing more to it than that. It's a steady life. Most days are about changing batteries or fixing a strap that's come loose. We stay open pretty late. It's been that way for years. We just keep to ourselves.
