Arun Machine Works

Down here on Basavanagar M G Road, it gets pretty noisy. We are right at 9/1, 8th Cross, just off Magadi Road. If you know where the old ESI Hospital is, you’ve probably passed us plenty of times. Arun Machine Works isn't a huge factory. It's more of a workshop where we handle whatever comes through the door. We have machines for cutting and shaping metal. It’s loud and there’s always metal shavings on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. The guys here have been working together for years. We know each other's habits. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we can't even stop for lunch because a big job came in. We don't have a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't busy. My hands are usually stained from the oil, which my wife hates, but that's the job. We've seen the area change a lot. More traffic now. Sometimes it's hard for trucks to get in and out of the lane. We just deal with it. It’s honest work. We don't make big promises. We just take the piece of metal you bring and try to make it do what you need. It’s a simple life here at the shop near the hospital. We don’t mind the noise much anymore. We just keep our machines running and help out whoever stops by with a problem that needs fixing.
