Our place is up on the 3rd floor at D/110 Peenya Katargam Road in Kubernagar. Carrying things up and down those stairs can be a real workout when the lift is acting up, which happens more often than I’d like to admit. Being on the third floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, but mostly it’s just roofs and more buildings. The air smells like machine oil most days. We have rows of tools and parts everywhere. Peenya is a busy industrial hub, so there’s always noise coming from the street below. We get a lot of dust in the office because of the traffic on Katargam Road. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the machine parts are what they’re supposed to be. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We wear work clothes that can get dirty. My desk is covered in old invoices and half-empty water bottles. The lighting isn't the best in the corners, but it works for what we do. We’ve got a couple of fans running all day to keep the heat down during the summer months. People come by looking for specific parts for their lathes or mills. We know most of the regulars who work in the nearby shops around Kubernagar. It’s a tight-knit community here. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in.
