Finding us at 72 DK Lane in the Maruthi Cloth Market can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to Chickpet. It is very crowded there, and the lanes are narrow enough that you really have to watch where you're walking. We have been in this spot for a while now. The market is always loud with people shouting and carts moving stuff around. Inside our place, it’s a bit more organized, but still pretty tight because of all the stock. We don't really do much in the way of decorating. It’s just piles of cloth and the counters we use. The air gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we usually have the fans going full blast. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. People come here because they know we are here, not because of some big advertisement. We usually have some tea around eleven and talk to the guys from the other shops in the building. Everybody knows everybody in Maruthi Cloth Market. Sometimes the delivery guys have trouble getting their carts through the lane, which causes a bit of a backup. You just get used to the noise and the pace of it all. We stay open until the market starts to wind down in the evening. It’s a lot of work being in Chickpet, but it’s what we know. We just take each day as it comes.
