Our place is at No 229, 11th Main in the third phase of the Peenya Industrial Area. If you know Peenya, you know it is a huge place with lots of small turns and heavy traffic, but we are right on the second cross. We deal with gears and hydraulic systems. It is heavy work. The shop floor is always busy with someone working on a pump or cutting a new gear. We have some old machines that still work better than the new ones, and we treat them well. It is not a sterile environment; there is oil and the smell of cut metal everywhere you go. We started this because we liked mechanical stuff. Now it is a full-time business with a handful of employees. We spend our days measuring things to the millimeter. If a hydraulic seal is off by even a little bit, the whole thing fails, so we have to be very careful. The office is tucked away at the front, mostly for handling the bills and the phone calls. Sometimes the trucks blocking the 11th main make it hard for us to get in, but that is just the way it is in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes in. It is a lot of repetition, but we don’t mind it much. We have been in this spot for years and plan to stay.
