Our shop is at 18B, 2nd Main Road. We are tucked away in Sharadamba Nagar, over in Mathikere. It is a good spot, not too far from the main traffic but quiet enough to get work done. We do mechanical work mostly. Most of the time, the floor is covered in shavings or oil. That is just the nature of it. We have a small team. Some of us live close by so we just walk to work. The building is not brand new and it has some character. We focus on the jobs we have in front of us. No one here wears a suit. We wear overalls and get our hands dirty every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait it out with a coffee. We handle various parts for machines. People bring us drawings and we try to make them real. It is satisfying when a part fits perfectly. We do not spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. Most people hear about us from someone else in the trade. We keep the doors open when it is hot out. Mathikere has changed a lot since we moved in, but our routine stays pretty much the same. We start early and leave when the job is finished. It is a simple way to run a business. We just keep our heads down and work. There is always another part to fix or a new problem to solve, and that keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
