About Adarsh Film Institute – Education in Bengaluru
We’ve been here at Rajajinagar 213 for a while now, focusing on teaching what we know about movies. It isn't a fancy setup with glass walls, but we have the equipment people need to get their hands on a camera. Most days you'll find a bunch of students huddled around a monitor or trying to figure out the lighting in one of the rooms. The neighborhood knows us well because we’re often out on the sidewalk trying to get a specific shot before the sun goes down. It gets a bit loud when we're editing, and the tea stall nearby probably sees more of our students than their own families. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations because the work itself is what matters. It’s mostly just us, a few old chairs, and a lot of talking about scripts and angles. If you walk past the door at 213, you might hear someone arguing about a scene or just the hum of the computers. We started this because there was a need for a place in Rajajinagar where you could actually touch a lens without someone getting nervous. It’s a practical spot. Nothing more, nothing less. We keep the doors open, the coffee is usually cold by the time we drink it, and we just keep going day after day. It's a busy life but we wouldn't change the way things work here. We just stay focused on the films.
