Our shop is at 179 N. R. Road, right in the heart of where all the hardware action happens. If you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the smell of machine oil and the cold feel of steel. We have shelves filled with drills, cutters, and various metal-working tools that are quite heavy to move around. N. R. Road is always loud with honking and the sound of iron being loaded onto trucks. We spend our days measuring things with calipers and making sure the threads on a bolt are just right. The workbench is covered in scratches and oil stains, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It’s a place for people who know their way around a toolbox. We don’t have a fancy display window; the tools speak for themselves just sitting on the racks. Sometimes the floor gets slippery with coolant, so we have to be careful where we step. We keep a small radio in the back that mostly plays old songs while we work. It’s a lot of standing and reaching for high shelves. Our customers are usually in a hurry to get back to their own workshops, so we keep things moving fast. The paperwork is kept in a drawer that sometimes gets stuck. It’s a honest day’s work dealing with hard materials and making sure the machines have what they need to keep running.
