Aas Cement Center

Aas Cement Center is located at Shop No. 61 on Jawahari Street. We are very close to the Gurudawara Temple in Kolvihar. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows it. The shop is small, but we pack a lot into it. We mostly sell cement to the people living around here. If someone is building a wall or fixing a floor, they come to us. We keep the bags stacked neatly, though the dust is hard to fight. Jawahari Street is usually full of people walking to the temple or the other shops. We see a lot of the same faces every day. It’s a nice community feeling. We don't have any fancy signs, just the name on the front. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it's not too hot and talk to the neighbors. The business was started because there weren't many places to get good building materials around here. We just try to keep enough stock so we don't have to turn anyone away. It’s a simple life. We open early and close when the street gets quiet. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We sell cement. That’s about it. If you need some for your house, you come to Shop 61. We will help you load it into your rickshaw or truck. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. My nephew helps out on the weekends when it gets busy.
