About Uday Cements – Building & Construction Material in Belgaum
Being out here at plots 68 and 69 in the K.I.A.D.B industrial area of Honga means things are usually pretty loud and busy. This part of S No 536 is filled with various units, but we have our spot where we handle the cement business. It is an industrial zone, so don't expect gardens or quiet corners. We are surrounded by other sheds and warehouses, and the roads are mostly used by heavy lorries. At Uday Cements, our day starts early when the first shift arrives. We spend the morning checking the stock levels and making sure the loading bays are clear. The dust is a permanent fixture here; it settles on everything, from the ledgers in the small office to the boots of the workers. We have a few chairs out front where we sit for lunch, usually listening to the noise of the machinery from the neighbors. It is a straightforward operation. We get the cement in, we store it, and we send it out to the construction sites nearby or further into the city. There isn't much talk about big goals or anything, we just focus on getting the counts right and making sure the bags don't tear during the move. The weather in Honga can be unpredictable, but as long as the roof doesn't leak on the cement, we are fine. It is just us and the work, day in and day out, making sure the supply stays steady for the local builders.
