It's dusty work here in Naganpur Lokapur. We handle a lot of cement bags every day. The trucks come in early, usually when the sun is just starting to get hot. It’s hard work, loading and unloading. Most of us have been doing this a long time, so we just know how the routine goes by now. We don't have a big fancy office, just a place to keep the records and sit down for a minute when the legs get tired. The infrastructure side of things means we’re often out looking at sites or checking on supplies. It gets busy, especially when there’s a lot of building going on in the area. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and we have to cover everything up fast so it doesn't spoil. We just try to keep things moving. Most people around here know us by now. It’s not a complicated business, but it takes a lot of physical effort. We deal with builders and people just fixing up their own houses. There is always something to stack or move. We’ve got a couple of old desks and a lot of empty tea cups by the end of the day. It’s just how it goes when you’re working with heavy materials like cement. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we are on our feet. It's loud when the machines are running, but that's just the sound of work getting done in Naganpur. There is always plenty of work to do.
