S. M. Engineering

S. M. Engineering is based out of Shed No. 5 in the Goral Compound. We are located at Sy. No. 693/345/A, right near the Mahalaxmi Foundry in Udyambag. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s always something going on nearby. Our shed isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit all the equipment we need inside. It gets a bit crowded when we have several projects going at once. We do engineering work, which basically means a lot of measuring, cutting, and fixing things that aren't working right. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always a smell of oil in the air. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine for visitors. Most people who come to see us are looking for a quick fix or a specific part made. We try to keep our head down and just do the work. Udyambag is a good place for a business like ours because everything we need is close by. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic in the compound with trucks trying to turn around, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We aren't looking to become a giant company; we just like being the local shop that people can rely on when they have a technical problem. It’s just us in Shed 5, working away every day until the job is done. It is hard work but it keeps us satisfied.
