National Foundry Works

Our place is located at 165 in the Kakti Industrial Area. It’s a loud spot because of all the machines and the heat from the furnaces. National Foundry Works has been operating out of this unit for quite a while now. Most days, the floor is covered in sand and metal scraps, but that is just part of the job. We do a lot of casting and molding here. It’s heavy work, and the guys are usually covered in soot by lunch. We have a small office near the gate where we keep the blueprints and the old files. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we’ve got some big fans running to keep the air moving. We aren't doing anything high-tech or fancy, just basic foundry work that needs to get done. Clients come by to check on their orders or bring in new wooden patterns for us to use. We spend a lot of time checking the pours to make sure everything comes out right. Sometimes things go wrong and we have to melt it down and start over, but we don't mind. The trucks come in and out of Kakti all day, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve known the neighbors for years. We just show up, do the work, and go home. That’s about it for us. It is a simple way of making a living, and we have been at it for years without much fuss.
