Sarma Salon

Our little place, Sarma Salon, is tucked away at 5/3 M. G Road in the Ramprasad Nagar area. If you know where Ramananda Charity Bidyalaya is, then you have probably walked right past our front door dozens of times over the years. We are situated right on the M. M Feeder Road side of the street. It is a noisy area sometimes because of the school nearby and all the traffic, but that is just part of the charm of being in this part of Kolkata. We have been cutting hair and chatting with the locals for a long time now. It is mostly just regular people from the neighborhood who come in to see us. We know most of their names and exactly how they like their hair done without them even having to ask. The shop has its own little quirks, like the front door that squeaks every time someone enters and the old pictures we have pinned to the walls. We do not spend money on big signs or paying for ads because that just isn't who we are. We just want to provide a decent place where you can sit down for a bit, have a rest, and get your hair trimmed. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, especially on Sundays when everyone is off work, but nobody seems to mind it much. We just talk about the daily news or the weather while we work.
