Lokenath Salon

Lokenath Salon is right here at 108 Sri Krishna Nagar. We have been in Belgharia for a long time now and the neighborhood has changed around us. The shop is not very big so on Sundays people often end up standing outside waiting for a turn. It gets a bit crowded inside when everyone shows up at once. We have the usual mirrors and some old posters on the walls to look at. Most of the people who come in live right on this street or nearby in the area. It is a quiet enough spot until the evening rush starts after the offices close. We handle basic haircuts and shaves mainly because that is what people want. Nothing too complicated happens here. My tools are old but I keep them sharp for the work. There are more buildings now than when we started but the shop stays pretty much the same. I like the sound of the scissors snip-snipping all through the day. Sometimes we play the radio low in the background. It is just me and a couple of others working here. We do not use any of those expensive creams you see in malls. Just regular stuff that works fine for everyone. If someone wants a specific look they usually show a photo on their phone. We try to match it as best as we can. It is hard work being on your feet all day.
