Puja Hair Catting Salon

We are located down on D D Mondal Ghat Road, right here in the Dakshineswar area of Kolkata. Most days we open up early because the street starts getting busy with people heading toward the river or the temple. Puja Hair Catting Salon is just a small place, really. We have the usual chairs and mirrors that have been here for quite some time now. You can usually find a few of us standing around waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It gets quite humid in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed. Most of our regulars are folks who live just a few blocks away. They come in for a quick trim or a shave and we talk about whatever is happening in the neighborhood. We don’t have fancy stuff here, just the basic tools like scissors and combs that get the job done. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on Sundays when everyone is off work, and people have to sit on the bench outside for a bit. It’s a simple life running a salon here. We know most of the faces that pass by our window every day. If you are walking down toward the ghat, you will see our sign hanging out front. It’s nothing special, just a place to get your hair looked after without much fuss. We try to keep things clean, though hair tends to get everywhere by midday.
