Baba Taraknath Saloon

My shop is called Baba Taraknath Saloon and we are located right on Sodepur Station Road in Kolkata. You can find us easily because we are right beside the Police Phari. It is a very local spot and I have been working here for quite some time now. I decided to open this place because there weren't many simple shops nearby where a man could get a quick haircut without paying too much. The shop itself is not very big. We have a few chairs and a couple of large mirrors that I try to keep clean every morning. It gets pretty busy in the evenings when people are coming back from the station. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but we have some old magazines and a small bench where you can sit. I don't use any fancy machines or anything like that. It is just me and my scissors and the usual tools. I like talking to the regulars about what is happening in the neighborhood or how the local football matches are going. It feels like a small community here. Most people who come in live just a few blocks away. I try to keep the place tidy but it is an old building so it has its quirks. We don't have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that hums a bit. It is a plain, honest shop for anyone who needs a haircut.
