Out here in Hirakud, life moves at its own pace. Our office is located right inside the Hindalco Colony at quarter number E-1/12. It’s a quiet spot in Sambalpur district, surrounded by trees and the usual residential sounds. Working for Hindalco Industries Limited from this corner of Orissa means we see the same faces every day. We’ve been at this location for quite some time, and the building has that lived-in feel. It’s not a shiny new skyscraper, just a solid place where the work gets done. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is short, which is a blessing. We deal with the heat in the summers and the monsoon rains, just like everyone else around here. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, computers, and files stacked up. We don’t have fancy lobby furniture or anything like that. It’s a practical space for practical people. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out and get back to it. Being part of the colony means we are part of the community here. You can hear the birds in the morning before the day really starts. We keep things simple. There’s no need for complicated talk when a direct approach works better. It's just us, working through the daily tasks in Hirakud, making sure things stay on track without making a big fuss about it. It’s a steady kind of life that suits us just fine.
