M/S Hindalco Industries Ltd,Hirakud

We are based over at Flat A/2 in Riverside Colony here in Hirakud. It’s a quiet place to work, being so close to the river and all. We’ve been part of the Hindalco setup here for a good number of years. Working from a colony flat makes things feel a bit more personal than being in a massive industrial park. We know all the neighbors and we see the same faces every morning. Our daily work is pretty straightforward. We deal with the paperwork and the management side of the aluminum business. It involves a lot of back-and-forth communication with the main plant. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to wait around, but usually, we are quite busy. We aren't the type of people to wear suits every day. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. We don't go around telling people we are the best; we just show up and do the tasks on our desks. The flat is a bit older now, but it’s a good space. We have a small kitchen where we make our own coffee and talk about the weekend. Hirakud is a small town, so reputation matters more than any fancy brochure. We just want to make sure the work gets done and that we can go home feeling like we did a decent job. It’s a simple life and a simple way of working.
