We have a lot of open space around us, which is nice when the weather is good. You’ll see a lot of bicycles parked out front because that’s how most people get here. Inside, the classrooms have high ceilings and large windows to let in the breeze. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the natural air and some old ceiling fans. The desks are made of heavy wood and have been scratched by generations of students. Our office is a simple room with a couple of wooden chairs and a big desk where we keep the registers. Life moves at a slower pace here. We know the families from the surrounding villages well. There’s a lot of green around the building, and sometimes you can hear the sounds from the nearby farms. We don't have any flashy equipment or digital boards. We use chalk and blackboards and paper. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and it’s what works for our community in Baheri. We just focus on getting the students through their lessons every day. Sometimes the rain makes the road difficult, but everyone still shows up eventually.
