We’ve been here in Bareilly for a long time now, right on Data Gandh Road. Ram Niwas Parwati Inter College isn't one of those shiny new buildings you see in the bigger cities. It is a sturdy place that has seen a lot of students come and go over the years. Most of our kids come from the local area in Ballia and nearby. The mornings are usually quite a rush with everyone trying to get through the gate on time. We have a group of teachers who have worked here for years and they know how to handle the rowdy ones. The classrooms are basic with old wooden desks and blackboards that always need a good wipe. We don't have fancy air conditioning, so the ceiling fans work hard during the summer months. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in. There is a small yard where the students hang out during their breaks. It gets a bit dusty when they play, but that is just how it is. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many teenagers around, there is always something to fix or clean. We spend our days mostly on the regular stuff like taking attendance and making sure the lessons are finished. It is a practical place for learning without any unnecessary fuss. We just do our work and go home. People around here know us well and we just keep the doors open.
