Charai Dandi Agrotech Farmers Producer Company Limited is located over in Baheri at the house of Mamta, who is Nand Lal’s wife. Our village is Charai Dandi and it is where we have lived all our lives. This company came about because we wanted to bring some better farming methods to our area. It is not a big setup. We use Mamta's place to keep our papers and meet up. Usually, there are a few of us sitting around drinking tea and talking about the tractors or the new seeds we heard about. Baheri is a place where most people rely on the ground for their living. We try to help the farmers here get what they need without having to travel too far or pay too much. It is not always easy because the market changes all the time and the weather is never predictable. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to our neighbors. If someone has a problem with their crop, they come to find us at the village. We handle the agrotech side of things, which mostly just means trying to find better ways to grow things. We have a lot of work to do every season, from planting to the final harvest. It is a lot of physical labor and the office work is just something we do in the evenings when the sun goes down and we can finally sit for a bit. There is always some paperwork waiting for us.
