Swastik Marbles

You can find Swastik Marbles at No.17/4 on Bannerghatta Road. If you know this road, you know how the traffic can be. It's almost always a crawl out there, so we spend a lot of our time watching the cars go by while we wait for the next customer to pull in. Our place is a bit tucked away, but once you get inside the gate, there is plenty of stone to look at. We deal mostly in marble, which means things can get a little messy with the water and the cutting. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Bangalore, just a reliable one where you can actually talk to the person who owns the place. Usually, it's just one or two of us here, moving slabs with the manual hoist or cleaning off the surfaces so people can see the patterns. We don't use any scripts or fancy sales tactics. If you like a piece of marble, you like it. If you don't, we look for something else. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. The dust gets into everything, even our tea cups if we aren't careful. We’ve seen a lot of changes on Bannerghatta Road over the years, but our little corner has stayed pretty much the same. We just keep the gates open and keep the marble moving. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’re okay with that.
