Deepa Marbles & Stones

We’ve been at No. 28/4 28/5 Shampura Main Road for a good few years now. Deepa Marbles & Stones is basically a family-run place. If you come down to Shampura Kodugondanahalli, you’ll see our yard. It’s full of different slabs of marble and granite. We spend most of our mornings moving heavy stones around and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s dusty work, honestly. My brother and I usually handle the customers who walk in. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just the warehouse and the outdoor area where the stock sits. People come here when they are building a house or maybe just fixing a kitchen. We show them what we have in stock and tell them the price. We don’t use those big sales pitches. If you like the stone, you buy it. Sometimes we have a lot of one kind, sometimes we’re waiting on a truck. That’s just how the stone business goes. We try to be fair with everyone. The traffic on Shampura Main Road can be a bit of a headache during the day, so it’s better to come early. We’re just local people trying to make a living selling natural stones. It’s hard work, but we like seeing the finished houses later on. We even have some old samples sitting in the corner from when we first opened up.
