Arun Marbles

Arun Marbles is situated at No.15/3 on Magadi Road, right across from the Anjan Theatre. This is a pretty lively area with a lot of shops and traffic, so there is never a dull moment throughout the day. We have been here on the 6th Cross for a long time, dealing with all kinds of marble slabs. The space is filled with stone from floor to ceiling in some spots. We spend our mornings checking the stock and the afternoons loading up vehicles for deliveries around the city. It’s a dusty job, and the sound of the saws cutting through stone is pretty constant when we are busy. Being near the theatre means people often stop by while they are out and about in the neighborhood. We don't try to make the place look like anything other than what it is—a working stone yard. The slabs are heavy and cold, and moving them requires a lot of care so they don't crack or break. We’ve had days where the rain makes the yard a bit of a muddy mess, but we still have to get the orders out to the construction sites. It is just the way things go when you are running a small local business like this one. We focus on the stone and making sure we have enough variety for the builders on Magadi Road who count on us for their supplies every month.
