Our place is located at Plot No. 30 in Phase 2 of the Jigani Industrial Area. It’s a rough and tumble kind of area, full of dust and heavy machinery. We handle granite slabs and blocks. If you walk through the gate, you'll see stacks of stone everywhere. We spend most of the day measuring, cutting, and loading. It’s physically demanding work and we get tired by the end of it. The machines make a constant humming sound that you eventually stop noticing. We get slabs from different quarries and then we have to sort them out. It’s interesting to see the different patterns in the rock, though it’s just work to us. The yard is big but it feels small once you get all the stone in there. We don't really do fancy brochures. People usually just show up because they heard we have a certain type of granite. We talk to the drivers, sign the papers, and get the stone moved. It rains sometimes and makes the yard a bit of a swamp, but we keep going. The industrial area has its own feel, everyone is just trying to get their work done. We are just one of the many yards on this road. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a GPS to find our way around these back roads. It's just simple, hard work day in and day out.
