Shri Shanmukheshwara Rural Iti College Gudur

Our college is located in a spot that is very easy to describe to anyone around here. We are right behind the Indane Petrol Bunk in Gudur, Karnataka. Shri Shanmukheshwara Rural Iti College is a place that feels very much like the countryside it sits in. We don't have big fancy gates or a long paved driveway. It’s mostly just a practical building where people come to learn how to work with their hands. You can often hear the sound of tools and machines coming from the workshops during the day. The students come from the local villages, and many of them travel quite a distance on buses or bikes to get here. We don't spend money on expensive decorations because that isn't what we are about. The classrooms are simple, and the floors are often a bit dusty from the work being done. Our staff are local people who understand what it’s like to live and work in a rural area like this. We talk about the crops and the rain as much as we talk about the curriculum. It’s an honest place where nobody puts on an act. We just show up, teach the skills that are needed, and try to keep the place running as best as we can. It might not look like much from the outside, but it’s a busy and useful part of the community here in Gudur and we are proud of it.
