Maharishi Patanjali Public School

Down in Pawai Ladpur, near Saraimeer in Azamgarh, you’ll come across Maharishi Patanjali Public School. It’s a local place through and through. The area is mostly quiet, with a lot of open land around us, which makes for a peaceful environment for the students. We’ve built the school up over the years, adding a bit here and there as we needed more space. It’s not some perfectly designed architectural marvel; it’s a functional building with walls that have seen plenty of chalk dust and posters. The staff here mostly live nearby, so everyone knows each other’s business in that small-town way. We don’t spend money on polished PR or fancy websites. We’d rather spend it on fixing a leaking roof or buying a few more chairs for the library. In the winter, the mornings are foggy and the kids come in wrapped in heavy sweaters, and in the summer, we all huddle under the fans. Life here follows a very predictable rhythm. The bells ring, the registers are marked, and the kids go home. We try to keep things organized, though things get a bit messy sometimes when there’s a local festival or heavy rains that turn the paths into mud. We just take it as it comes. It’s an honest place where we work hard and don’t put on any airs. It is what it is, a school in Azamgarh.
