Anara Public School

Anara Public School is situated on the fourth floor of a building in the village of Itkohiya, which falls under the Phulpur post in the Azamgarh district. It is a bit unusual to have a school up on the fourth floor in a village area like this, but it gives us a good view of the surrounding fields. The road leading up to the school can get a bit muddy when it rains, but people around here are used to that. Being in Phool Pur, we serve a lot of families from the local villages who want their children to get an education close to home. The rooms are simple with basic wooden benches and blackboards. We do not have air conditioning or anything like that, just the breeze coming through the windows. The staff mostly comes from Azamgarh or the nearby small towns, so they understand the local way of life. We spend a lot of our time making sure the children are attending regularly and that they have their textbooks. It is a quiet place for the most part, except when the kids are moving between classes or playing in the space we have available. We are not a big institution with a huge budget; we are just a local school trying to provide a space for learning in our corner of the district. The daily routine is very predictable, starting early and finishing up before the sun gets too high in the sky.
