Bharat Bharati School

We’ve been here in Badarka for a good while now. Bharat Bharati School is just a local place where kids from around Azamgarh come to spend their day and pick up some things they’ll need later in life. It isn’t some fancy glass building, just a regular spot with classrooms and a playground that gets a bit dusty in the summer. We see the same faces every morning, some sleepy and some ready to run around. The teachers here live nearby mostly, so everyone knows each other’s families. It makes things easier when a student is having a rough day or if there’s a problem at home. We try to keep things organized, but schools are always a bit chaotic by nature. There’s the sound of chalk on boards and the bell ringing for lunch which is usually the loudest part of the day. We don’t have big corporate meetings about our goals. Mostly, we just talk in the staff room about who is struggling with math or which window needs fixing. People in this part of Azamgarh know where to find us if they need to talk. It’s a simple setup. We deal with the monsoon leaks and the heat just like everyone else in the neighborhood. The kids grow up fast, and before you know it, they are heading off to college and we’re starting over with a new batch of little ones in the primary section.
