Maa Sharda Inter College

Out here in Bhadavar, things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the big cities. The college is easy enough to find once you get into this part of Azamgarh. It’s an inter college, so we have the older kids who are starting to worry about what they will do after they finish. The building is solid but simple. We have the cycle stand out front where most of the boys park their bikes in the morning. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of teachers talking and the occasional bird that flies into the hall. During exam season, the whole place gets very quiet and serious. People around here know us well because their kids have been coming here for years. It’s not a place with air conditioning or anything like that. We use the big ceiling fans and open the windows when it gets too hot in the summer. The staff room is usually where you’ll find someone making tea or checking through some old files. It feels like a community spot more than just a building for classes. We see the same faces every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to keep going with the doors open for light. It’s just how things work in this part of the district. We don't have much fuss, just the usual daily routine of classes and bells. It is a plain place where the local youth come to finish their schooling before moving on.
