Adarsh Balika Intermediate College

Adarsh Balika Intermediate College is right in the heart of Mau. It’s a place that has seen many generations of girls come through its doors over the years. The building has that old style of architecture with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it somewhat cool during the summer. We have a large iron gate that always creaks a bit when you open it in the morning. Every day, the street fills up with students in their blue and white uniforms. It’s a common sight for the people living in the 275101 zip code area. We don't have much in the way of high-tech equipment in the classrooms. Most of our teaching is done with just a piece of chalk and a board. The library has some old books that have been on those shelves for decades. We try to keep the place clean, but the dust from the Mau streets always finds its way inside somehow. The staff room is usually full of talk about the upcoming exams or the local news from the town. We don't have a lot of fancy events or celebrations. Most days are just about following the timetable and making sure the girls are attending their classes. The lunch hour is probably the loudest time of the day when everyone is out in the common area. It’s an honest place where people work hard.
