Down here in Waluj MIDC, the days start early before the sun gets too hot. Our place is at Plot No.E 04 and it’s a big space compared to some of the smaller workshops nearby. At Varroc Pvt Ltd, we mostly deal with the sounds of machinery and the constant flow of trucks coming in and out of the industrial area. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets. We’ve got concrete floors that have seen a lot of work over the years. Some days it gets pretty noisy, and you have to speak up to be heard over the hum of the equipment. We have a small crew and everyone knows what their job is. We don't have a big front desk or anyone in a suit waiting to greet people. Usually, someone is just busy with a tool or checking a shipment list. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that is when we usually take a quick break to sit on the plastic chairs outside. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we are always wiping down the desks. It is a straightforward way to earn a living. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on schedule despite the power cuts that happen once in a while. It’s just us doing our bit in the middle of this busy industrial zone without making a big fuss about things.
