You can find the Sri Satya Sai Modern Rice Mill out on Mehta Road. We’re at 384-385 in the Industrial Focal Point. It’s a big area with a lot of different mills and factories, but we’ve been here long enough that most of the truck drivers know the way. The mill itself is pretty loud when everything is running. There’s always the sound of the machines and the smell of the grain in the air. We’ve got a small team here. Some of the guys have been with us since we first opened the doors. It’s a lot of physical work, loading bags and checking the machines to make sure nothing is jammed. The floors get dusty no matter how much we sweep, but that’s just the nature of a rice mill. We don’t have a fancy office. It’s mostly just a desk in the corner where we keep the records and handle the paperwork. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for things to get back up and running, which can be frustrating. But we just deal with it. Mehta Road can be a bit of a mess with the traffic, especially during the harvest season when everyone is trying to get their stuff moved. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s honest. We take pride in what we do, even if we don’t talk about it.
