Onkar Seeds Private Limited

Our place is right across from the HDFC Bank on Khadoor Sahib Road in Khalchian. If you're coming through Tehsil Baba Bakala, you’ve probably seen us. Onkar Seeds Private Limited is what we call the business, but mostly we are just seed people. We spend a lot of time sorting through bags and checking the quality of what we have. It’s a lot of dusty work sometimes. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a place to keep the stock dry and ready. Farmers come by, we talk about what grew well last year and what might work now. We don't do much fancy advertising because word of mouth usually does the job around here. The road gets busy during the day with tractors and trucks going by. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside until it comes back. It's a simple operation. We make sure the seeds are kept in a cool spot so they don't spoil. It’s important because if the seeds are bad, the whole year is ruined for someone. We take that part seriously even if we don't act like a big corporate office. It’s just us and the bags of grain and the locals stopping in to say hello. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and know the area pretty well. That’s who we are. It is just a regular shop where work gets done every single day without any fuss.
