Malik Seeds

Malik Seeds is located right in the heart of the Old Subji Mandi. It’s a place that never really sleeps, especially in the early hours of the morning when all the vegetables and grains are being moved. Our shop is tucked in among all that chaos. It’s filled with bags of seeds of all kinds, stacked high against the walls. The smell of the earth and dried seeds is something you get used to pretty quickly. We spend our days chatting with farmers who come in from the nearby villages. They aren't looking for a polished sales pitch, they just want to know what's going to grow well this season. We keep things simple here. There’s a small desk where we keep the ledger and a few chairs for people to sit and talk. It’s a bit dusty, and the floor is never really clean because of all the foot traffic from the mandi. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people know us by name anyway. It’s a traditional way of doing business, face to face and over a cup of tea. We aren’t trying to change the world, just helping people get their crops started. Some days are incredibly hectic when the planting season is near, and other days we just sit and watch the market go by. It’s a good life in the mandi.
