Punjab Agriculture Trading

We are situated right on the G.T Road in Tangra. It’s a convenient spot because we’re so close to National Highway 1. Being near the highway means we see a lot of trucks passing by at all hours. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the floor. Punjab Agriculture Trading is basically a big shed and a small office area. It’s where we handle all the trading work for the local farmers. The phone rings a lot, mostly people checking on prices or asking about shipments. It’s a practical setup. We don't have fancy furniture or a waiting room. Just some plastic chairs and a wooden desk that's seen better days. The weather out here in the district gets pretty extreme. In the winter, we all wear heavy coats inside because the draft is strong. In the summer, the tin roof makes it quite hot. We’ve been at this Tangra location for quite a while now. Most of the regulars just pull their tractors right up to the front. We know most of the drivers by name. Sometimes we share a meal in the back if things are slow. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise. We focus on getting the loads moved out on time. The highway noise is just background music to us now. We just keep things moving along. It’s what we do day in and day out.
